Pay off truck - Success!
I paid the truck off in February of 2017 and have spent the following 10 months building up my emergency fund, funding my retirement accounts and all sorts of other lame adult things. At some point I'll start saving for my next truck, although I love this one so much, I'm in no hurry to replace it.
Nearly 13 years old and with obsessive preventative maintenance and how little driving I do (#workfromhome) I hope it goes another 5. |
Fix up trailer - Success and then some!
Not only did I get it fixed up, I also sold it for what I had in it and bought the perfect trailer for me and Connor.

Show 2nd Level - Success!
We showed unrated Second Level in July and squeaked by with a 60.000%.
Our "Are we really doing this?" selfie from a couple hours before my test. |
I didn't even attempt this. My trainer had no students eventing this year what with all the upheaval from the move, so we didn't go XC schooling.
Proof that we used to jump some legit stuff back in the day. |
You did so much this year! And saving (while not exciting blog content) is so key to success (especially when you have horses) so go you!
ReplyDeleteLol, too true, very boring blog content but very important especially when you own a 128 year old home and a horse.
DeleteYou are adulting so hard I can't even. Awesome about 2nd level AND a new trailer!
ReplyDeleteTrailer all thanks to you :) You were right that that trailer would help me figure out what I really wanted.
DeleteNice job with all of that (including the emergency fund)! I long for the day that I no longer have a truck payment.
ReplyDeleteWord! I will go to great lengths to avoid car payments. I hope by the time this truck goes I will have "paid myself" enough car payments to buy the next one in cash, we'll see. But in the meantime, this one is paid off and has heated seats so I can't ask for much more than that!
DeleteReally productive year!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou are so much better at adulting (and dressaging) and achieving your goals than I am. #jealous
ReplyDeleteHa! Not hardly but thank you :)
DeleteWow! What a productive year! And lots of adulting done. I aspire to adult as well as you did this year.
ReplyDeleteI started reading the PersonalFinance subreddit on Reddit about a year ago, and it's inspired me. Cool stuff.
DeleteLooking forward to 2018!!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Can't wait to see what you and Hamps accomplish.
DeleteYou did do a lot this year! I can’t wait for 2018 for all of us.
ReplyDeleteYou did too, first time showing rated! 2018 is going to be great for you too.
