After just two trainer rides, I can see a marked difference in the way he moves and carries himself. Those of you who saw him at the show will note the consistent head/neck/topline in this video instead of the wild variations of his head/neck position from just a month ago. He feels powerful, yet contained, forward, yet light and springy. I feel like I'm finally able to slow the front feet down while asking the hind feel to drive further, like Nancy is always saying. Since this video he's gotten two more trainer rides, and I am beyond excited to see where that's put him.

You are a brave person wearing shorts at the barn. I have to wear pants or the bugs eat me.
ReplyDeleteConnor is coming along nicely :)
You know, it's funny, in college we absolutely were not allowed to wear shorts to the barn, only jeans or breeches, since we were supposed to make the place look presentable. Only since it's been in the 100's here have I started wearing shorts, and I really have to convince myself mentally that the barn manager at the college won't come chasing me down the barn aisle for wearing shorts.
ReplyDeleteI so want a pony!!! Connor looks great and I agree - I could never do shorts. Not only are my legs translucent from never seeing the sun, the bugs would pick me up and suck me dry.
