Cob Jockey

You guys know that we're all about sharing the Welsh Cob love around here.  How could you not love these guys?

We're also all about sharing the love in general.  Many of you have followed Alanna's story over at Pony Express.  Over the last year, she's faced cancer at a young age, made some very adult decisions about her body, and went through several months of chemo, much of which is covered in her blog.  She's impressed me over and over with the poise and maturity with which she's faced her situation, and hooray, she's now done with chemo as of very recently!  Congratulations!

Alanna is also a Welsh Cob fan saving up to buy a baby by North Forks Cardi, the Grand Prix Dressage-level Cob stallion who is also making his eventing debut this year.  Especially after my own breast cancer scare and biopsy, you can imagine that I love this and thought that this is a cause I could definitely get behind, so I was excited to see that one of her friends is hosting an online Scentsy fundraiser for the pony fund, which her friends and family have also made a surprise donation to recently.  Perfect, I can solve the problem of smelling like barn and donate to a Welsh Cob pony fund for an awesome person at the same time!  Her own words:

"Also, be assured that I am working hard to accomplish this goal. I know that I have chosen an expensive sport, and an expensive horse, and there's just a lot of hard work involved in making something like this happen. It's been my dream for a few years but after being diagnosed with cancer and going through treatment and everything, I just decided that now is the time to see my dreams become a reality. We spent many hours in that chemo room discussing my North Forks Cardi baby and how excited I am about this. I can't wait to start blogging about my actual baby when I get him. I'm so ready to get on with my life and I know that we are going to have tons of wonderful adventures together."
