Reasons Why Jump Start is going to be the Best Event of 2014

1) Best event weather ever or what?


2) Best ride times ever or what?

Dressage, XC, SJ, in that order.

3) I'm staying on the KHP grounds in an RV with my parents!

My old Kentucky home.  They went over a day early so my mom could see Secretariat's grave.  He's been her "man" since she saw him run as a kid.

4) And finally, the best part of the weekend is that I said, parents, plural.  My dad has always had a thing about watching me ride, and so he never has.  He's been to pretty much every other sporting event in my life, even coached me as a runner, but in all my almost 27 years he's never seen me ride or met Connor!  He agreed to go this weekend and watch Dressage, just not the "airborne" sports (he says he'll watch any other rider jump but me).  I'm thrilled and so excited to have him there!

Here's to a long weekend of forgetting about work for 3 days, drinking beer under the stars while listening to Cardinals baseball with my parents at night, and good rides during the day.

    Camping at the KHP is a blast! My family did it every year during Pony Club Rally! Have a blast, and good luck!

    That's awesome! Hopefully your Dad is suitably calmed by your riding ability and comes to watch more often :) Also those start times are killer.

    You guys are going to rock it!! That is so funny about your dad - my dad is the same way. He was always very nervous about watching me and my sister show. And would not watch the actual class! But would be there when we would exit the ring and he would be like "oh good job!", until years later I found out he never watched! ha!! He is a lot better now and comes to watch me show when he can. Guess dressage isn't as wild as those saddlebred/morgan shows were. lol
