This is finally public enough that I can share it. I've been sitting on this news for seven months and IT'S KILLING ME!
My horsey BFF, Connor's Aunt Mary, is moving 38 minutes north of me!! We haven't lived closer than four hours to each other since we graduated college ten years ago.
MUGGED |
I am just beside myself with happiness to have my horsey partner in crime back. She's always been my ride-or-die when it comes to doing ridiculous things on horseback. Like taking the best picture ever:
And co-owning a pony together:
And definitely not letting our pony roam free at 10pm on a Saturday in the school's barn:
Who would do such a thing, really. |
And being the literal best show groom on the planet:
Let's also not forget that she's a ridiculously good saddle fitter and found the SE02 for me:
Still can't believe she fitted this sight unseen |
And she has the best eq of anyone I know. The first time my trainer ever saw her ride, she said she'd put her on anything in the barn without hesitation:
Really, if Connor doesn't improve over fences when being ridden by someone this talented at jumping, it's his own fault. |
As soon as I learned she'd be coming back, I told her Connor was going to be just as much hers as mine, and there's no one else on the planet I'd make that offer to except her. When we co-owned Venice in college, it was the easiest and most fun thing in the world. We'd sit in our dorm room and make up training plans for the week, trade on and off during rides so one of us could feel something the other had felt, and pick up rides for each other when the other one couldn't make it out. Sharing a horse with her is effortless in a way it wouldn't be with anyone else.
That pony was the best |
And to top aaaalllll of that off, I get to be a part of baby Annie's life as she grows up, hopefully on Connor's back!
Two more weeks until they move in, and I just can't wait!
That's so exciting!
