I've been blogging for well over a decade now, and for the first time, I don't know where to start after last weekend's Welsh North Central Regional. Any one of these things is an entire post by itself!
I fell SO in love with Disco. And so did the judges.
I still cannot believe how big Disco won, omg. |
Connor was a fun fire-breathing dragon for me in Ridden Cob.
OMG WTF WHY ARE THERE PEOPLE THERE CANNOT BRAIN |
And then took such good care of Annie in her first ever horse show.
Connor and I won the pants off the English division.
English Pleasure, you say? I can look pleasurable. |
And then he carried Mary safely around her first hunter course in over a decade - even if he would have preferred a jumper round to a hunter round.
SUDDENLY REMEMBERED I'M AN EVENTERRRRRRRRRR |
And I have the ability to document this show at all because LEAH drove 11.5 HOURS to spend a long, cold, mostly sleepless horse show weekend with me, and took every picture in this post, and I am just so incredibly grateful I can hardly put it into words. She captured the most special memories.
A full run-down is coming, but perhaps not for a day or two as I have to ferry Connor to Flying Lead Change School today!
❤️❤️❤️ I'm so glad I could be there to be your personal paparazzi! Such a special weekend 🥰
ReplyDeleteThank you soooooo much!
DeleteSounds like an amazing weekend, can't wait for more stories! Congratulations on what looks to be some major successes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a weekend! So excited for all of you!
ReplyDeleteIt was truly awesome. I am just so excited about all of it! My baby and Mary's baby's first show!
DeleteWow! What a busy, fun filled show!! Baby Disco is the cutest thing ever, and leadline Connor is a very close second.
ReplyDeleteDisco's winning and Connor taking care of Annie like that were definitely the two biggest highlights!
DeleteOH MY GOODNESS – LOOK AT DISCO'S DECO!!! Maybe Connor sees the handwriting on the wall through the ribbons on the colt, and is telling you, "That's okay; I prefer being a babysitter and hunter over your mount anyway." 😉
ReplyDeleteI mean, no joke, I will go more into this later, but it was honestly very cool to see him in what is more his element than anything else, which is a breed show designed to show off the breed. It was pretty neat to go into the ring on a horse that was like ok cool this is easy and win almost every class, despite still competition. So yeah he enjoyed it more than Dressage I think we can say that!
DeleteTBH don't you think most horses enjoy other things more than dressage? 😉 Dressage is like going to the gym; done correctly it is so good for their physical development, but not as much fun as, say, rock climbing or snow skiing!
ReplyDeleteI don't think so, I do think they can enjoy it. I was making more of a purpose-bred argument, he was doing things that were intentionally set up to show off what makes him great as a Welsh Cob this weekend, whereas Dressage is always a bit of an uphill struggle for him (literally and figuratively, lol).
DeleteSounds like the culmination of a decade of hard work <3
ReplyDeleteCongrats - sounds like an amazing weekend. And <3 those neck ribbons on baby Disco!
ReplyDeleteI love Disco too!! Congrats on a great show, can't wait to hear about all of it!
ReplyDeleteI followed this on FB. Connor and his wee jockey is the cutest thing ever.
